Baked Goods, Brownies
½ cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 ½ cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Over low heat melt butter and dissolve sugar. Cool slightly and add eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder and salt and then stir into butter and sugar mixture. Bake in a well greased 9” pan at 350 for 30 – 35 minutes. If gooey, bake another 5 minutes.
-You have to let the brown sugar mix cool enough so that the eggs don’t start to cook when added.
-I use parchment paper in the pan – enough to come up on all sides. Then I can lift the entire batch out and cut up on a cutting board. The brownies are pretty dense and hard around the edges, so this makes it much easier. These don’t keep long. I find they dry out pretty quickly. Eat them fast!!
